Remote Learning
At Kippax North, we endeavour to ensure that our children have the attitude, resilience and level of independence to develop their learning. Whether this is in school or when learning at home. To support this, we continue to help children to be familiar with the platforms they use, how to access them and how this will impact their learning, whilst we maintain contact with our children and offer ongoing support.
It is now more important than ever that home and school continue to work together. We are working to enable learning from home to be a natural progression from their learning in school and the 3-day and 10-day learning package (emailed as required) has been written with this in mind.
As we look to the future, we will continue to refine these systems and foster a sense of true belonging regardless of any physical barrier or the need to access learning from home. Please visit our COVID-19 page for more information about remote learning.
In the Event of School Closure - including severe weather
Should the whole school, or part of the school for any reason need to close or change opening times, for example due to severe weather or a power cut we will advise the Local Authority about this who will in turn advise local radio stations. Parents and carers can access, up-to-date school closure information on Leeds City Council website. If possible, we will display a note on our website and text/e-mail parents too.
Remote Learning will be provided by each class teacher to allow children to continue their education from home and will be available within 24 hours of closure. The learning will fit closely to the work being undertaken by each class at that point during the school term.
Please keep in touch by following @KippaxNorth on Twitter and by reading and contributing to the class blogs which can be found by clicking the News tab.
